What We Offer

We provide solar systems that are built with the future in mind.

What does this mean?

Well let's start by answering the question that we get the most when someone is interested in solar.

Why would I invest in a solar system when the feed in tariffs are so low?

In this day and age you should be consuming as much of your generated solar power as possible. When you consume your own power, you’re saving 30 cents every kWh. If you chose to send your solar to the grid, you’re paid 5c per kWh, therefore, self consumed solar is worth 6 times more than exported solar!

So, how do we maximise our self consumption?

Incorporating sophisticated monitoring devices is essential to increasing efficient self consumption. Understanding when your consumption is high and how that correlates with how much energy your system is making, is very important.

Devices we use are CatchPower and the monocle. These devices allow for real time monitoring and control. And can increase self consumption by 20/30% (depending on household usage)

Another question we get is how much solar do I need?

Well it depends on your budget and how much space you have on your roof. But we say the more the better, this directly relates to that self consumption we were just talking about.

What about batteries?

Batteries allow you to store excess electricity generated by your system, allowing you to use it at a later date when your system may not be able to keep up with your household needs. We believe that you’ll be needing them in the future, to help power things such as our electric cars, on top of daily household usage. However, we understand that they are expensive so if you’re unsure, you should get a hybrid inverter with your system which allows installers to easily add batteries and it’ll cost you less in the long run. Figures from the Climate Council show that adding a 4kWh battery to a 5kW residential solar system can increase the amount of self-generated solar electricity a household consumes from 30% to 60%.
